So you’ve decided to sell your home. What now… Most people are quick to look at the MLS listings to gauge what the prices are in their community. The trouble with using this strategy is that you’re only looking at what sellers want, not what they will actually get. This is where Realtors come in. A Realtor will not only look at what’s currently available in the MLS market but also in the for sale by owner market as well as what was recently sold, cancelled, and expired. With all of this data, a Realtor will come up with a ‘desktop’ value for your home, but this is still very crude without having a detailed look inside your home. This is when your Realtor will show their experience level by suggesting the correct price point to sell your home for as much as possible and in a reasonable timeframe.
